Operators process deposits on behalf of customers for a variety of reasons. Most of these relate to the normal operator purchase workflow, which has verbose and accurate tracking of deposit method (card, money order, etc).
However, there are other ad-hoc deposits scenarios that come up regularly.
Scenario 1: supporter mails in prepaid funds or authorization to charge their card or DD for wallet funds. For example, $100 in cash or $100 via credit card for a prepaid subscription. Currently this can only be processed via a Manual Deposit, but these doesn’t have the same deposit method options as the Operator Purchase workflow. This makes financial reconciliation challenging as one deposit method is down while another is up. For credit card transactions, this involves providing operators with access into the payment gateway to process transactions and the traceability back to the customer is entirely dependent on a manual process of entering IDs into gateway manual charge form etc.
Scenario 2: we have seen several errors related to payment gateway responses that have caused wallet balance discrepancies. It’d be great to be able to have a more deposit method to track a deposit for remediation purposes, rather than an actual funds deposit.
Scenario 3: occasionally complimentary tickets will be given to a customer, including for customer service reasons or as a bonus prize. This, again, is practically only facilitated by a Manual Deposit, but this leaves the financial reconciliation staff again looking for funds they won’t ever receive (instead forcing them to manually track a second set of data outside of PBJ)
Scenario 4: offering split payment methods. For example, at a prize home, $10 in cash and $20 in card.
