Improve Search Results

Operators do not have the required information to make an informed decision on which account to use when search results return multiple accounts. Some of the key attributes operators would use that are not currently available in the search results are:
- encoded customer ID
- last purchase date
- subscription details (lottery, status, value)
- affiliation
- account status (active/deactivated/locked)
- phone number
- online/offline
Given the challenges currently faced with searching (other canny requests) we are finding that operators are being faced with multiple accounts frequently, however, even if all of these challenges were resolved the need to provide more meaningful information to operators to support decision making will remain.

I have merged several similar requests relating to the searching and locating of customer accounts. This will allow us to assess this problem more holistically.

Include Phone Number in Supporter Search Results

Could we please have phone number included in the supporter search results? When searching a partial phone number, the phone number is not included within the results so the user is unable to determine the correct supporter.
Thanks

Improve elastic search with spaces in name
S
Simone Elliott
When searching for a supporter who has a space in their first name or last name (either because the first name field also contains a middle name or initial, or the last name field contains two last names), if the details after the space is included in the search the supporter is not displayed in the elastic search drop down. The supporter is included in the full search results displayed by selecting enter. This could potentially lead to duplicate accounts being created.

Phone number is hard to search on

Montague, Jeremy
As a POS or Admin Operator I find it difficult to find supporters when searching on their phone number. Phone numbers should be an easy way to find supporters in the database as numbers are easily communicated and unique.
A few formats exist for numbers in our system: 04xx xxx xxx, 04xxxxxxxx and +614xxxxxxxx
In order to search I have to type in the correct format to get any result. ie when searching for +61456789011, if I type 0456789011, no results are returned even though technically its the same phone number.

I found that this also has an impact to how we'd extract data for various use cases. I was exploring having formats enforced and changed to all be one type. E.g. +61 for mobiles etc.
Is there a reason multiple formats are supported / stored currently?

Colin Hili: our operators are fairly consistent with it, but as customers enter their own phone number on the website, we have low (no) expectations on consistency without it being enforced.
Also agree on the utilisation of the data, relatively consistent format(s) are a big plus, particularly with phone and alt-ph and either of them potentially being a mobile you could SMS to
We tackled a similar problem as part of data migration, happy to share learnings on that regarding dialability, parsing of numbers, and validation

I assume you'd combine DOB with other info to narrow the search is that right?

Colin Hili: Yes, the postcode and name are not enough sometimes. Especially when customers have email addresses that have been spelt incorrectly

Hi Simone Elliott, are you able to provide a little more detail about exactly where you are searching?
Currently, you can search for a customer by their phone number in the primary administrative search located at the top of the admin site. The full customer's name, email address and phone number are also shown in the resulting search results.

Hi Levi Putna. Once the user selects search to display the full list of supporters the phone number is no longer visible.
Thanks
Simone
