Operator cancel a ticket after draw stop
planned

It is important to maintain a true representation of the status of all tickets in a draw.
It is often necessary to correct ticket statuses after a draw has been completed. This may be as the result of a chargeback or refunding a customer who had accidentally purchased the ticket.
It would be of value to be able to cancel these tickets and reflect the fact that the tickets had been cancelled after the draw had been completed for historical audit purposes.

I agree this is a critical element to us being able to go Live. I have discussed briefly with James who was looking into it. He may not have known there was an existing Canny Request? We need to be able to still process a new ticket (eg. waiting for a chq to clear), cancel and refund a ticket etc..

Is there any progress on this? We will need to be able to cancel a ticket up until draw for our first draw conducted from MPBJ i.e. 10th July.

We want to empower lottery operators to be able to manage the lottery in their way. We are planning to make ticket status editable at any time in the ticket lifecycle.
To allow operators to clean up tickets after we have stopped accepting new sales, we will be adding a new permission to our user capabilities. The new permission will allow a ticket to be cancelled at any time beyond the "draw stop" date (the time PBJ stops accepting new tickets in a draw)
The current "Mark Tickets as Cancelled" user capability will remain the same, allowing an operator to cancel a ticket in an open draw, up until the "draw stop" time.

We do not need to change the ticket status after a draw is completed, but we do need to do this between the draw close/stop time and the draw being completed.

Amanda McMillan: to clarify, when you say draw close, are you referring to the time that ticket sales are no longer available on the website/app?

Chris Hebrard : Yep, draw close is the date/time that new ticket sales cannot be taken. Draw completion is the date/time that we physically select the winner.
We need to be able to edit ticket status' between these times to facilitate cancellations. In our current state (and until we move all sales channels to MPBJ) this could include issuing tickets if the payment has been successfully taken prior to draw close.

EF agrees with Amanda, between close of lottery and drawing a lottery, status of orders may need to be changed due to human error etc. where a new order would need to replace the existing order for example.
